Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Thursday said that Pakistan will implement Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project at all cost and President Asif Ali Zardari will visit Tehran shortly to give finishing touches to the venture.

She stated this while talking to media persons outside the Parliament House in a bid to dispel the impression in the media that her expected visit to Saudi Arabia on the request of Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud was an attempt by the Kingdom to put pressure on Pakistan to shelve the Iran project.

At the same time, Khar also rejected the impression of cancellation of President Zardari's Tehran visit, saying that the President will soon visit Iran in this regard. About Pakistan-US relations, she said that the ties between the two countries had improved, but there were differences with the United States on the issue of drone strikes in the country's tribal areas.

Commenting on the Kashmir issue, the Foreign Minister said Pakistan strictly stood by its principled stance on the Kashmir issue. She said that the issue had been kept alive on the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) forum for the past 20 years and a contact group of the conference had also been established on Kashmir. Khar also said that Pakistan wanted good relations with all its neighbours, including India and Afghanistan. She, however, said that a new blame-game "will trigger instability in the region".
